Coin Matrix - Circular

Set against the dramatic Himalayas landscape, Avatara Hotel in Dewarath, Uttarakhand is defined by a sculptural gold metal facade engineered and executed by Axes in Excess. The facade utilizes a Coin Matrix panel system in a premium gold finish, articulated through multiple sweeping curves to create a fluid wind-inspired movement across the elevation. The geometry was digitally modeled to maintain controlled curvature transitions, ensuring visual continuity while preserving structural rationality and fabrication feasibility. The reflective gold surface interacts dynamically with changing mountain light conditions—morning softness, midday glare, and evening warmth—allowing the building to visually evolve throughout the day. The curved metal composition amplifies the sense of motion, contrasting beautifully with the stillness and scale of the surrounding Himalayas. Beyond aesthetics, the aluminium system offers durability, corrosion resistance, and long-term performance in a high-altitude climate. The modular fabrication strategy enabled precision installation while maintaining the integrity of the curved parametric design. Avatara Hotel stands as a hospitality landmark—where engineered metal facade design enhances both architectural identity and natural context.
