Located in Malkapur, Maharashtra, this private residence explores the architectural potential of aluminium through two distinctive product systems from Axes in Excess: Aero Foil 150 Architectural Louvers and Perforation – Byte.

Designed by Bengaluru-based architecture firm Studio Rutted Narratives, led by Ar. Vijay Dharmalingam, the residence brings together contemporary architectural forms, natural stone textures and carefully integrated aluminium facade systems.

Aero Foil 150 | Shaping Light and Ventilation

Extending across the balcony facades throughout the residence, the Aero Foil 150 aluminium louver system creates a continuous architectural screen that balances solar protection with natural ventilation.

The vertically arranged oval-profile louvers help reduce direct sunlight and solar exposure while allowing air to flow through the balcony spaces. This creates a practical layer of environmental control without compromising the openness of the residence.

Finished with an anodized coating, the louvers introduce a refined metallic character that complements the building's stone surfaces and contemporary architectural language.

Perforation – Byte | A Distinctive Layer of Architectural Screening

Complementing the louver system, Perforation – Byte introduces a second dimension to the residential facade.

The perforated aluminium screens create a visually detailed surface, adding texture, depth and a sense of privacy to selected facade areas. Their carefully composed perforation pattern offers a contrast to the linear rhythm of the Aero Foil 150 louvers.

Finished in champagne-gold anodizing, the screens bring warmth and subtle metallic highlights to the elevation, connecting the two aluminium systems through a consistent material language.
