Architecture can capture attention through form, material, and colour. But when a facade begins to move, it creates something altogether different.
At Giri Zever Mahal Unique, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, Axes in Excess transforms the jewellery showroom's exterior into a dynamic architectural experience with a custom-engineered KINETIC™ RECTA facade system. Finished in luxurious gold PVD on SS 304 stainless steel, the facade brings together the brilliance of gold and the energy of movement.
Approximately 10,500 rectangular stainless steel elements form the kinetic screen, creating a striking visual identity for the showroom.
Gold has always been associated with luxury, craftsmanship, and timeless appeal. At Giri Zever Mahal Unique, this material expression takes on a new dimension.
The gold PVD finish gives the stainless steel elements a rich metallic appearance, creating a distinctive facade suited to the identity of a jewellery showroom. But the real transformation lies in the movement.
Each rectangular element is engineered to swing forward and backward in response to wind. As the air moves across the facade, individual elements begin to respond, creating a constantly changing surface of reflections, shadows, and movement.
What appears as a precise geometric screen in still conditions becomes a living kinetic facade when the wind arrives.
The facade is composed of thousands of individual rectangular elements, each contributing to the overall architectural pattern.
As the wind passes through the screen, the elements move at different moments and angles, transforming the facade into a dynamic composition. The gold surfaces catch and reflect light differently as their positions change, producing a shimmering effect across the building.
From a distance, the movement creates a larger visual rhythm. Up close, the individual elements reveal the precision behind the system.
The geometry creates order. The wind introduces movement. Gold brings the entire composition to life.
A moving facade requires more than an attractive design. It requires careful engineering to ensure that thousands of individual components work together as a coordinated system.
For this project, Axes in Excess developed the kinetic facade system so that the rectangular elements could respond to wind while maintaining their intended movement and alignment.
As the wind moves the elements, the facade continuously changes its appearance. When the wind subsides, the elements return towards their original resting positions, restoring the screen's intended geometric arrangement.
This relationship between movement and repositioning is central to the KINETIC™ RECTA system. It allows a controlled architectural geometry to interact with natural forces without losing the identity of the overall design.
At Giri Zever Mahal Unique, movement becomes part of the building's identity.
When the wind sweeps across the facade, the thousands of gold rectangular elements begin to swing, creating a mesmerising visual effect. Their collective motion gives the building a sense of energy, making the exterior feel almost alive.
The changing reflections create a different experience throughout the day, while the gold finish reinforces the premium character expected of a jewellery destination.
Rather than relying on static ornamentation, the building uses movement itself as an architectural feature.
A jewellery showroom demands a distinctive presence. Its architecture should communicate quality, precision, and an unmistakable sense of luxury.
The Giri Zever Mahal project brings these qualities together through gold PVD-finished SS 304 stainless steel, rectangular kinetic elements, and custom facade engineering.
It demonstrates how a kinetic facade can move beyond conventional cladding to become an expressive architectural system—one that responds to the environment and creates a memorable identity for the brand.
10,500 elements. One golden expression. A facade that moves with the wind.
At Giri Zever Mahal Unique, Indore, Axes in Excess turns kinetic engineering into an architectural spectacle.
