A residence can be more than an expression of style. It can become a study in form, depth, texture, and detail.

Located in Suncity, Gurugram, I60 Residence, designed by Habitat Architects for Mr. Mahendra Adlakha, brings together five distinct Axes in Excess aluminium systems to create a contemporary residential façade with a strong architectural identity.

Rather than treating the façade as a single surface, the design introduces multiple layers—solid planes, three-dimensional volumes, sculptural screens, linear textures, and finely controlled edges.

The result is a modern metal facade that changes character as the eye moves across it.

A Box That Breaks the Plane

One of the defining elements of I60 is the three-dimensional cantilever box projecting from the façade.

Created using the Solid Cassette Panel system, the box transforms a conventional flat elevation into a bold architectural volume. Solid powder-coated aluminium sheets wrap the form, creating clean surfaces and precise edges while allowing the geometry to project outward from the main façade.

The project demonstrates the possibilities of sheet metal technology in architecture—where aluminium can be engineered and formed into complex three-dimensional shapes rather than being limited to flat cladding.

The cantilever becomes more than a functional element.

It becomes a visual anchor.

A Blossom in the Facade

The second focal point is the Tri-Blossom Unveil™ screen from the Bloom Collection.

Inspired by a tri-grid unfolding into a petal-like formation, the system introduces a sculptural layer to the façade. Its three-dimensional geometry creates changing patterns of light, shadow, and depth, giving the entrance elevation a sense of movement.

Where the solid cassette box creates architectural mass, the blossom screen introduces openness and visual rhythm.

Together, the two elements establish the defining character of I60.

A Ceiling Drawn in Lines

Moving through the façade, Fluted 20_15 brings a quieter form of expression.

The system is used across the ceiling elements of the residence in a wood-finish powder-coated aluminium, creating a continuous linear texture across the overhead surfaces. The warmth of the wood appearance contrasts with the precision of the metal construction, adding a more residential character to the contemporary façade.

The fluted rhythm also helps visually connect the different architectural elements, creating continuity between the built volumes.

The Detail Between the Lines

At the edges of the ceiling, C-channel detailing introduces another layer of refinement.

It is a small intervention, but one that makes a significant difference. The channel creates a controlled edge condition, framing the ceiling and giving the transition between surfaces a sharper architectural finish.

Because great façades are often defined by what happens at the edges, these details become as important as the larger gestures.

A Gate With a Different Kind of Presence

At the entrance, Fluted_Comb continues the language of linear metalwork across the main gate and boundary wall.

The fluted geometry gives the entrance a contemporary appearance while creating a layered security screen that adds privacy without making the façade feel visually heavy.

The same material language therefore extends from the main architectural mass to the smallest point of arrival.

Five Systems. One Facade.

What makes I60 distinctive is not simply the number of products used, but how differently each system contributes to the overall composition.

Solid Cassette Panel creates volume.

Tri-Blossom Unveil™ creates movement.

Fluted 20_15 creates rhythm.

C-channel creates precision.

Fluted_Comb creates identity at the entrance.

All five are brought together through powder-coated aluminium, giving the residence a cohesive material language designed for contemporary exterior architecture. The project also carries a 25-year colour warranty, supporting the long-term performance of the façade finish.

I60 Residence is ultimately an exploration of what a modern residential elevation can become when aluminium is treated not simply as cladding, but as a material for architecture itself.
